VWD 2005 vs VS 2005

Hi,

I just wanted to know, if you had the choice which development package would you get for developing web applications? Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition(FREE) or Visual Studio 2005?

Does VWD Express Edition have limited functionality because it is free? I am thinking of buying VS 2005 at this new company i am starting at but feel if VWD can do the same job then save thr firm some money. But then again learning the new VS 2005 can only be a good thing right, industry standard? So should i be selfish and get it in?

The IDE is the same for both correct? No, the IDE is different as its "streamlines" for the hobbiest and entry level programmer. The VWD edition is limited yes, but if money is an issue its just fine to go with the express version. Once you outgrow it you can always purchase VS 2005 Pro and be confident that your ready and needing it.

The VS.NET 2005 is more powerful and if your primarily a programmer/web developer at your job, then how come the company doesnt have it or provide it for you to use? If you can afford it and are confident you will stick with it then by all means go for it. :)
